Cassona Healthcare Group Signs MOU with New Port City Development Company to Deliver World-Class Medical Hub in Rivers State
In a landmark step toward delivering a world-class medical hub in New Port City—a smart and sustainable city in Eleme, Rivers State—Cassona Healthcare Group (comprising Cassona USA Inc., DBA Cassona International; Cassona Global Imaging Company Ltd., Ghana; and Cassona Global Imaging Ltd., Nigeria, collectively referred to as “Cassona Healthcare Group”) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with New Port City Development Company, promoters of a 1,000-hectare joint-venture city project with the Rivers State Government.
The partnership follows a high-level strategy meeting held at Rainbow Heritage Group’s corporate headquarters, with the project’s developers and senior leadership from both organizations in attendance. The MOU represents the culmination of extensive engagements aimed at establishing a sustainable and integrated healthcare ecosystem that will position New Port City as a leading destination for medical tourism in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The emergence of New Port City is widely recognized as a direct outcome of the Rivers State Government’s commitment to realizing the Greater Port Harcourt City Masterplan. This continued drive is catalyzing strategic partnerships and investments designed to reposition the state as a hub for innovation, investment, and quality urban living. New Port City stands as a flagship component of this broader metropolitan expansion strategy.
The project is being delivered under the supervisory guidance of the Greater Port Harcourt City Development Authority, the statutory agency responsible for ensuring compliance with the masterplan. Its oversight guarantees alignment with long-term regional planning frameworks, infrastructure standards, and sustainability objectives envisioned for the Greater Port Harcourt metropolis.
Designed as a fully integrated urban and economic hub, New Port City will feature residential districts, industrial clusters, agro-processing facilities, commercial zones, and recreation districts. The development of a cutting-edge medical hub, now advancing under this partnership, marks a major milestone in the city’s evolution.
